Stanford Sites v6.1.0 Released – 12/3/2025

This release is all about people — making it easier than ever to showcase faculty breakthroughs, student achievements, researcher innovations, and alumni impact.

People

• Ability to tag and create a multi-filtered grid of People using Filtered Lists Paragraph
• Ability to automatically display related News and Media Content Type teasers on Person profiles
• Remove alt text for people image cards to provide support for accessibility best practices
• Added no-follow link to profile links on Person Profile pages to eliminate false "broken link" reporting of profiles.stanford.edu links in Siteimprove

News

• Addition of a new Spotlight display for News that can be used to feature people in news items
• Addition of a Teaser display for Spotlight news items
• Addition of Body field on News items to support easier editing for content that does not require complex display
• Ability to tag and create a multi-filtered grid of Spotlights, the new News variant, using Filtered Lists Paragraph
• Increase for News Dek field from 180 to 500 characters

Basic Page

• Addition of Body field on Basic Page to support easier editing for content that does not require complex display options

Events

• Fixes to Events Importer to remove localist urls with no filters
• Improved support for deleting imported events that no longer exist on the Stanford Events Calendar
• Fixes to the data field in the Event RSS feed
• Removed "event has already occurred" from the list of past events
• Adjustments to Event details card spacing
• Adjustment to Event subtitles styling

Lists Paragraph

• Provided autocomplete suggestions to Arguments field to allow for easier creation of pre-filtered lists

Content Management

• Adjust the total number of items displayed per page on content management lists
• Display of total number of items added to content management lists

Courses

• Ability to tag and create a multi-filtered grid of Courses using Filtered Lists Paragraph

Media Content Type

• Creation of a new Media Content Type for creating pages, lists and filtered lists of videos, podcasts, and more. This feature will be will be fully released in early 2026
• Ability to tag and create a multi-filtered grid of Media Content Type using Filtered Lists Paragraph
• Ability to easily display related Media Content Type teasers on Person profiles

Media 

• Fixes for video styling to create consistent display across video embedding methods (in a Text Area, Card, Media with Caption.)

Taxonomy

• Allow unpublished taxonomy terms to still be selected for tagging so that site authors can use terms for categorization without display.

Enhanced Search

• Prepend uuid for algolia items with a hash of the site name to ensure unique IDs for Federated Search
• Removal from search index for pages on Intranet sites that are changed to have more restrictive access

Other

• Fixes related to client site migration scripts
• Cleanup of unused fields on the Opportunity Content Type
• Updates to Card structure to be consistent with other components and improve accessibility
• Updates to Banner overlay read order to improve accessibility
• Fixes to space for the load more button for Publications
• Removal of whitespace from FontAwesome links in text areas to better support centering icons.
• Support for commas in stat card animation
• Improve NextJS invalidation when a media or taxonomy term is changed
• Changed login link destination to use only the pathname and not any query parameters
• Style adjustments to Opportunity page display
• Increased security for password reset and register routes based on saml settings
