Known issues
Utility Navigation
- There is no mobile display for Utility Navigation. This will be added in release 5.7.0, scheduled for June 26, 2025.
Filtered Lists Paragraph
- The Argument field is currently not implemented.
Opportunities
- Opportunities page display will show dividing borders in the sidebar, even if the fields are not filled out.
Intranets
- Some intranets using workgroups to control access may experience log in problems or slowness for users who are in a large number of workgroups. If you are experiencing this on your intranet, please file a help ticket.
Person Importer
- For new sites on Stanford Sites Intranet and Jumpstart Engineering, the Person Importer requires an adjustment before the first import. If you are using the importer on a new site on either platform, and are unable to save your API credentials, please file a help ticket and we will make the needed adjustment.
OEmbed
- OEmbeds will be deprecated. Change your method of embedding to use the embed field rather than the Oembed field.
- If you have more than one OEmbed on the page, Siteimprove will report the issue "Element IDs are not unique". It is a WCAG Level A violation: Understanding Success Criterion 4.1.1: Parsing. To correct this, place only one OEmbed item on a page.
Embeddables
- Adding a caption to an Embeddable affect the size of the embedded display. To correct this, add the caption in the text editor, rather than in the embed field.
Twitter/X
- Twitter/X embedded media will no longer display a timeline feed of Tweets for many users due to a change in the Twitter/X content access model. We strongly recommend removing embedded Twitter/X feeds from your site.
Global Message
- If you are unable to edit the text in the Global Message, the text format for the Global Message may need to be reset by Stanford Web Services. Please file a help ticket if you experience this on your site.
Courses
- Multiple instances of a course are displayed on the Filtered List Page and Lists Paragraph.
Images
- If you do not see the expected number of images in the Media Library when adding an image, click on "Table" or "Grid" in the Media Library selection display. This should reset the list.
- The image on the News Lists Paragraph Default display and Filtered List Page display does not respect the Focal Point setting. For best results, crop the image to a 2:1 ratio.
- When adding images, a 502 error will occur if the uploaded images exceed the specified requirements. To resolve this issue, please resize the image. To learn more about supported image sizes, visit our Images guide.
Menus and Navigation
- When adding a menu link to a page that already has a manual entry in the main navigation, you may experience problems with the path on that page, with endlessly repeating page paths (example:
/path/path/path/path.
) - When added an external link in the Main Navigation, internal pages that are nested under that menu item will have a corrupted path that includes the external link URL. We recommend avoiding using external links as a parent menu item.
- After navigating to a page after selecting a topic from the Topics Menu or Filter by menu, you’ll see that there is no active menu item in the main navigation. If you'd like an active state to display on the parent menu item, add the topic page to the menu. See Add topics to the menu.
Person
- Contact header shows up even if no contact information is filled in.
- When creating a clone of a Person profile page, the Prepend Cloned Titles field does not function. All Person clones will have the same name.
- The title field on People node pages appears twice and can look duplicative, depending on information from CAP.
Filtered List Page
- Using Load More on the People Filtered List Page may result in duplicate headers for subcategories of people.
News, Events
- When creating two or more clones of Events or News and incrementing them by the publishing date or time, the date/time will only increment once. All the clones will have the same date/time. See How do I Clone Content? for more information.
- Some older sites show a default events listing page and past events listing page with incorrect semantic headers on event titles; they display as H3 instead of H2. This results in an error reported in Siteimprove. There is a workaround; please file a help ticket and SWS can fix it for you.
Publications
- When changing the citation style on the default Publication List page from Chicago to APA citation style, the Filter by Topics list pages will remain listed in Chicago style. See Changing the publication citation style for more information.
- Using a letter in the Pages field may cause the citation to break, resulting in a 502 error.
- When searching for an article title, the link from the search results will send you to the publication page rather than the external link. Click the link in the publication page to access the external link.
- When using a Teaser, the Publication will not redirect when you list an External Source. It will go to the internal Publication page.
- When presenting a list of publications in Chicago style, the year does not appear if a DOI number is included.
Publications Importer
- Some special characters are not recognized by the importer and result in odd characters being added after the import. Editors should plan to check imported publications, paying special attention to diacritical marks, author names, and text areas.
Layout Builder
Layout Builder is available on Stanford Sites by request. However, we do not provide support for this tool. Use this feature at your own risk.
- You must have Layout Builder turned off to display banner images at full width while using Full Width layout.
- News date and image overlap in the custom Layout Builder news block.
Masthead and Local Footer
- The lockup logo field will not accept logos over 4 MB.
- When there are Primary Links in the Local Footer, the Third Content Block will not align at the top of the column even if no Secondary Links are present.
- Mastodon icon is only available for links to the
Mastodon.social
server.
Google Tag
- Google Tag module now includes enforced privacy settings. If you experience a drop in analytics/tracking data, you can remove tracking for items that require consent or add a consent banner to your site. More information on options will be available soon, or you can reach out to the University Privacy Office.
Taxonomy
- Shared Tags do not support nesting.
